06/09/2021.- Last April 22, the Justice in Mining Network endorsed the Ignatian commitment to advocate for climate justice proposed by Ecojesuit to the Ignatian Family. In line with the points set out in this commitment, this Friday, June 11th 2021, Ecojesuit will launch Stepping Forward for the Global Common Good, a workshop series to promote the urgency of understanding and participating in the COP26 process. This Ecojesuit workshop series tackles the five key points for decision in COP26 and the collaborative actions emerging among Jesuits and partners beyond COP 26.
Ecojesuit invites all to join as we engage in the new normal for climate action and the common good described by Pope Francis in his Apostolic Exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium, weaving together the oikos of ecology and the oikos of economy.
The first workshop, Global Rules, Local Solutions, is on 11 June 2021, Friday, in different time zones (8am, New York / 2pm, Rome / 5pm, New Delhi / 8pm, Manila) and will focus on the Paris Agreement Rulebook and community-led Nature-based Solutions that draw strength from a shared gratitude for creation and the environment that are in solidarity with local needs and the common good.
