26.06.2024.- We are delighted to invite you and your organization to an upcoming webinar to launch the report titled “Faith-Based Participation in Natural Resources Governance: Communities Defending Life and Territories in Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.”
This event will take place TODAY, June 26th, at 11:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) / 4 PM (GMT+1) London / 5PM (GMT+2) Rome, Paris. The webinar will feature a presentation of the report’s findings, brief insights from representatives in the faith, ecology, and human rights sectors, and a dynamic discussion with the audience. Simultaneous translation will be available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Over the past eighteen months, teams from the World Resources Institute and the Laudato Si’ Research Institute, in collaboration with local researchers and communities in Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, have examined the role of religious actors in developing strategies for peaceful resolutions to socio-environmental conflicts. Their research highlights the often-overlooked importance of faith communities in these disputes. The report explores how these civil society actors infuse a spiritual-symbolic dimension into their defense of human rights and territories, shaping distinctive strategies of protection.
